Making life more creative

About Me
Hello everyone and thank you for viewing my page!
My name is Kelly Gilleece from Valley Falls, KS. I began my creative journey in my grandma’s sewing room where she taught me how to sew by hand, on a sewing machine, and use color theory. I have been continuously involved in 4-H since I started in cloverbuds in the 1990’s. My last year in 4-H as a member I had received Reserve Grand Champion on a portrait. In 2013-2014, I came back to judge as an alumni in the visual arts and to this day I am a leader of my local 4-H clubs visual arts project. In high school I served as the vice-president for the Art Club. I had received several honorable mentions at the regional art competitions during 2002. I received an art associate degree from Art Instruction Schools in 2012 and won an honorable mention for a pencil drawing in the school’s annual art competition.
In 2014, I created my own art business which includes selling my art, giving lessons, and doing art parties but when I had decided to go back to school in 2017 this business was placed on hold. I had picked Academy of Art University to get my BFA in art education. I am on my last semester of this journey to teaching in a PreK-12th grade school setting with the completion of the student-teacher program and teaching certification process. My business will be back up and running within the next few months.
My artistic talents range from drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, jewelry, bookbinding, book arts, scrapbooking, paper crafts and pottery. I don’t just have art in my life. I enjoy taking care of my creative son and fur babies. I also enjoy gardening, listening to music, watching movies, family time, and friend lunch dates.
I will soon be offering art lessons to all ages and art parties. I will be opening my shop soon to sell my artwork. I enjoy helping those that need creative healing and adventure in learning new passions.
Have a blessed day!
Kelly
